In Jackie’s class I learned how to study. A lifetime of hoping I wasn’t called on in class gave way to a world of opinions and lively discussion. I arrived as a keen reader, but I was taught to appreciate Shakespeare, to analyse, to convey my opinions and to use critical texts to back them up. I finally learned how to write a PROPER essay and it became something I enjoyed very much. 

I finished my A-Levels with Straight As, and went on to obtain a First in English & Creative Writing.

Having been mentored by Jackie on my PGCE year at Chichester College, I witnessed first-hand what an excellent teacher she is.
